Why do funeral homes use those large pinkish/red lamps?
I've been to many Funeral Services, wakes, and funeral homes and they may all be different in a way but also in another way they are all some-what similar. They all seem to use these pink lighting fixtures. They usually have them near or next to the casket were the deceased is displayed in the room/chapel area. They seem to have candles w/ red coverings, then next to those these large glass pink lamps on either-side, and then up in the celling rescesd lighting is above too. Why do funeral homes use this/ when was it founded/ why did they start using this? Who supplies them w/ the lamps?
Really simple answer - - the pink colors give the deceased a more "life-like" look. I don't know who started doing this, for appearance is the reason. The funeral homes build in the cost of their lamps and replacements in their budgets.
