Grecian Urn Symbolism

grecian urn symbolism
How did Keats use symbolism in Ode to a Grecian Urn? How did this effect the tone and theme of the poem?

He used the idea that love became immortalized. Because it was a carving on an urn, the man was forever chasing the woman and in love. There is no resolution as she is never caught or never rejected or reciprocated love. He is forever in a state of love. That is the truth (for him) and that is what makes the truth beautiful ("Truth is beauty and beauty truth. That is all ye need know...")
