What size Generator will I need for a new Catering Trailer?
I'm looking at buying a new Catering Trailer. It comes with the Griddle, 8x Bain Marie & a Dean Tea Urn all on LPG. It has one medium display fridge on Electric and the lights are 12v spotlights.
What Generator will I need to run the following:
1x Double Basket Breville Fryer
2x Toasters
1x 800W Microwave
1x Breville Sandwich Toaster
1x Display Fridge
10x 12v Spotlights
The prices of the generators are expensive I know, so I really need to make sure that I am buying the right one.
You need to find the kW rating of each appliance which you wish to use all at the same time. You then need to find a generator to match the load or provide slightly more power than the maximum in use at any given time. If you compromise on minimising the amount of stuff in use at any one time then you may save more. The generator must produce the same voltage as your stuff. A 800W microwave is 0.8kW. The kW ratings should be stamped on the stuff. If the rating is given in amps then multiply by volts to give Watts.
