If I wanted my ashes in space, what would I have to do?
I am aware that this might be the strangest question you'll ever come across on y!A but nonetheless I am serious. I prefer to keep the details to myself, but long story short, I would rather want my ashes into space than in a grave on Earth. I mean, I wouldn't want my urn floating in space, but the ashes themselves.
I guess this would require ridiculous amount of money, research, begging and alike to get some space company to agree to send my remains into space. I do have places in mind where I would like to have my ashes sent...
Has this been done before? Would this even be possible for a random by-passer human being, who's not even famous?
Yes there are at least one company that periodically sends ashes into space I believe it is $20,000 US dollars but may be as high as $50,000 you ashes are encapsulated and lauched via orbital rocket. It is an uncommon thing but many pople do do it, incuding if I remeber one or two of the US astronauts from years past have made there final resting place space.
