Another Nail in the coffin of Boxing and success of MMA?
So what are your thoughts? I am not arguing which sport is better. I would like your thoughts on the future of Boxing and MMA.

First, I love that you posted the same question in both the Martial Arts and Boxing sections. It is funny to see the difference between the fans and the sections. I think I will answer your question in both sections.
The article is an interesting point in the sales of both sports. I think it shows that MMA is doing something right, mainly the UFC, in the way it promotes and brings the fights together the best they can for the fans. Boxing has been around a long time and has the history behind it; but like anything in life, something that has been around a long time becomes stuck in a rut and doesn’t evolve to adapt to the ever changing environment around it. Boxing needs to unify to bring together the top fighters together and not so fractioned. It needs to put the fights together to please their fans and it needs to stack cards. Not just one great fight. It needs to lower its prices to generate new fans. Both sports should work in conjunction with each other because there are fans of both sports.
The ignorance of Andrew that this is a bar sport shows how much of a moron he truly is… yes, people who watch boxing don’t go to sports bars, do they!? They only watch boxing at Country Clubs, while sipping an 82 Merlot while discussing politics! People are realizing these fights are worth buying… that is what the article is about! You should talk about that at your next Country Club meeting.
Wow, then you have Toddy… he must be from the same Country Club as Andrew! Young people and animals who want to see a brutal knock-out? And the point of Boxing is what? Who can hug each other the most? Are you aware there are more deaths in one year of Boxing than all the years MMA has been around? As of July there have already been 35 Boxing deaths in sanctioned matches… there has only been 1 MMA death in a sanctioned match and that guy had a pre-existing medical condition and shouldn’t have been fighting in the first place! I do agree with Toddy that MMA isn’t taking anything away from Muay Thai and Karate, but those two are big PPV draws. The article is about business moving away from Boxing and towards MMA. SO exactly how is Boxing less Violent?
I do agree with Rig, you but a Boxer in the cage and he will lose, you put a MMA fighter in the squared circle he will lose.
